Business & LinkedIn Headshots
Your photo is the first thing anyone sees before a call, a pitch, a job application or an introduction. Most people are using a cropped wedding photo, a selfie in a car, or something taken at a conference in 2019.
It's a small thing that quietly does a lot of work, and it's an afternoon's work to fix.
Not looking like a stock photo
The thing most people are actually worried about is ending up with something stiff. Arms folded, corporate smile, blue gradient background, the look of an employee of the month award.
That's a lighting and direction problem, not a personality problem. If you look wooden in photographs, it's usually because nobody told you what to do with your face while a stranger pointed a camera at you.
I can help direct you. We will talk while we shoot, I'll tell you what's working, and I will light you properly, which does more of the work than people expect. The result should look like you on a good day rather than someone impersonating a professional.
What the session looks like
The studio is yours for up to half a day. One person, one sitting, no production. Most people booking for themselves are done well inside that, but the time is there if you want to work through more looks rather than watch a clock.
A conversation first about where the photo's going and what you want it to say
Different backgrounds and lighting setups, so you get options rather than one answer
Bring some changes of top if you want variety - a jacket on and off covers most needs
We review on screen as we go, so you leave knowing you've got something you're happy with
You pick your images afterwards, in your own time
Most people booking for themselves buy one or two images. That's all you need for a profile and a company bio.
Price
£150 session fee. That buys the studio time, the direction and the review. It doesn't include any images, so you're not paying up front for a number you can't judge yet.
Images are £50 each, chosen after the shoot.
Students: 20% off the session fee, so £120. Bring your student ID. Use code STUDENT26 when booking.
I don't sell packages. You buy the time, then you buy the pictures you want.
Where
Liverpool. Unit 2, 23 Roscoe Lane, L1 9JD. City centre, ground floor, step-free access and a private area to change. Nearest train station Lime Street (national rail), Liverpool Central (Merseyrail). There is on street parking nearby and a multi-story on Renshaw Street (ParkBee).
London. I shoot in Hackney at Mare Street Studios on set dates through the year.
Somewhere else. If you're organising a few colleagues in another city, that's usually a team booking rather than an individual one.
Questions
How long does it take? The slot is up to half a day, but some people finish sooner. Book the time and use what you need.
What should I wear? What you'd wear to an important meeting or at work, not what you think a headshot needs. Solid colours photograph better than patterns. Bring a jacket even if you're not sure, since it's the easiest way to get two different looks from one sitting.
I'm not photogenic. Nobody thinks they are. That's my problem to solve, not yours.
How quickly do I get the photos? Your selection gallery lands within a few days, and your chosen images are retouched and delivered within 3 to 5 working days. Sized correctly for LinkedIn and whatever else you need.
How much retouching do you do? Enough that you look rested, not so much that you look synthetic. The point is that people recognise you when you walk into the room.
Can I use them for anything? You can use them for professional use - LinkedIn, your company site, speaker profiles, press. If your employer needs broader commercial rights, tell me before the shoot and I'll sort it.
Do you do this at our office? Yes, but that's a different booking. See Team & Corporate Headshots.

Booking for more than one person?
If you're arranging headshots for a team, a leadership group or a whole office, that works differently. I come to you, we run people through on a schedule, and everything is shot to match so the set looks like it belongs together.
What Clients Say
“We hired Joe to help with a corporate event, and gave him quite a unique brief to integrate artwork into his headshots.
He was extremely supportive, gave additional ideas to the event brief and was a great collaborator with our team. Would highly recommend!”
- Emma Humbey, Philips Health
“Joe undertook some corporate photos for us, down on Liverpool waterfront. Levels of communication have been superb, and although we had some trouble with the weather first time round, our second lot of photos we were very happy with.”
- Samantha McCauley, Hasset Homes
“Had a session with Joe in London and loved it! Joe made it a super relaxed and comfortable session, and it was fun trying out different settings etc.
I was a bit nervous but Joe has a really easy-going, patient way about him. Definitely recommend!”
- Chris Caden, Hippo Digital
